diffstat software package provides produces graph of changes introduced by a diff file, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install diffstat
diffstat is installed in your system.
Make ensure the diffstat package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep diffstat *
You will get with diffstat package name, version, architecture and description in a table
